Shared Distribution of GTX Programs from a File Server
Programs installed from the GTX Product CD may be run from a local (user) hard drive or from a
shared hard drive on a file server. GTXImage CAD version 4.0X and all GTXRaster CAD
versions will comply with AutoCAD's recommendations for "environment settings" as described in the
AutoCAD installation manual. These settings may be applied to the GTX program icon properties in the
"shortcut tab", "target" line. To get to this point, right-click the GTX
icon and select "properties". This type of customization is useful in
distinguishing license versions and program customization per user in the shared
program environment.
For the Raster CAD versions 5.0 and 6.0 the GTX installation creates
an icon with target line properties similar to this:
"C:\AutoCAD R14\acad.exe" /p "GTXRCAD PLUS V50"
or
C:\acad2000\acad.exe /p "GTXRCAD PLUS V60"
The /p specifies the AutoCAD 14 or 2000 profile to use on program startup.

For the GTXRaster CAD series V4.05, the GTX installation creates an icon
with target line properties similar to:
C:\r13\win\acad.exe /c e:\r13\win
For GTXImage CAD Series V4.05, the GTX installation creates an icon with
target line properties similar to this:
c:\gtx\ImageCAD\gtx4.exe
Following the AutoCAD R13 convention, a /c applied after the
executable path may be used to give control to the path which stores the
gtx4nt.cfg and gtx4.ini files.
Client-Server Shared Use of GTXImage CAD Plus 2000
An attempt by a networked client PC to access the GTX Image CAD 2000
executable file, ICAD.exe, from a valid installation on a networked file
server PC will result in the following message:
A patch file, ICADREG.ZIP, is available by request from GTX Technical Support. If you believe you have this problem, please contact Technical Support. The ICADREG.ZIP patch contains two Windows registry
files and instructions. The registry files are to be applied to the network client PCs.
These registry files may be applied to Windows 95, 98, NT, or 2000 network clients.
The GTX Image CAD 2000 files likewise may be installed and shared from a Windows 95, 98, NT,
or 2000 networked PC. The conditions for use of the registry files are documented in the
ICADREG.txt file contained within the ICADREG.ZIP patch.
