Hardware Locked License

Some of the products found on the GTX Product CD are protected by an Aladdin Knowledge Systems product know as a HASP Key. Each HASP key is uniquely coded with an identification number and is reprogrammable by the end user. This has been a successful and useful method of upgrading a software license. Included with the GTX software is a utility program named CUSTOMER.EXE. This program is used to change the HASP Keys ability to provide a license for a specific set of software. The customer program will reveal the unique 'ID' which is used to register your license with GTX Corp. Once registered through the transaction of a faxed Authorization form, a set of codes is returned to you by fax. This set of RUS (Remote Update) codes is entered into the customer program which updates the content of the HASP key. From then on the portable HASP key is permanently set to provide licensed use of your GTX software. For fully detailed instructions refer to the Users Guide for your GTX software.

Using the most recent version of HASP software is ALWAYS recommended. Updated file versions are found on the GTX web site's Patch Page.

Explanation:

When the CUSTOMER.EXE file is activated, you receive a message, "wrong HASP key connected". We supply five customer executables to accommodate five different types of HASP keys, plus one CUSTOMER.EXE utility. These files are found int he GTX directories listed as:

CUSTGTX.EXEFor White HASP keys
CUSTOMER.EXE
CUSTVEU.EXEFor Black and Blue European HASP keys
CUSTVJP.EXEFor Black and Blue Japanese HASP keys
CUSTVPR.EXEFor Black and Blue Pacific Rim HASP keys
CUSTVUS.EXEFor Black and Blue keys used in the Americas (U.S. keys).

The white key and the red key types respond to the CUSTGTX.exe. In the United States a black and blue key responds to the CUSTVUS.exe. The CUSTOMER.exe is designed to automatically detect which CUST... file to apply based on which type of key is connected. If the CUSTOMER.exe doesn't do its job for any reason, run the appropriate CUST... file based on your location and the color of the key.
