NetHASP Diagnostics: Monitor Program
At times a computer network seems mysterious. Decisions must be made when any
problem arises to determine what is at fault and how well things are actually
working. The start of investigation requires diagnostic utilities which will
measure functionality. The HASP floating license system used by GTX software is
designed by Aladdin Knowledge Systems. GTX provides its customers a diagnostic
tool to evaluate network communication between a license broadcasting
computer and a client computer which seeks a license.
NetHASP Monitor - The AKSMON.EXE program, when properly
installed, may be run from any Windows computer on the served network.
That computer may run the Aladdin Monitor program independent of any
GTX, or other Aladdin Knowledge Systems program. Installation of an
AutoCAD based GTX application will provide an AKSMON32.EXE installation
utility, which will install the AKSMON.EXE program. This program may be
used to determine whether a NetHASP license manager is available to serve
license requests from a GTX application, the identity of the license
serving computer, the identity of the license recipient computer, and
the number of available software licenses currently in use.

As a diagnostic event, the Monitor program helps determine whether an individual
computer is capable of "seeing" the NetHASP license server. For detailed
information on this subject refer to the aksmon_en.HLP file.
