GTX Flex Licensing Components

LICENSE SERVER SYSTEM -

For served licenses, there are four required FLEXnet Licensing components:

-The GTXRaster CAD Series V11.5 FLEXENABLED application.
-The LMGRD.EXE, License Server Manager .
-The GTXFLEX.EXE, Vendor Daemon , which, along with the license server manager, LMGRD.EXE, comprises the license server system. The GTX vendor daemon file must be copied to the License Server host computer from the GTX CD at CD:\Software License Activation\Gtxflex.exe.
-The GTXNET.LIC License File, assigned to a specific Host Server computer.

LICENSE SERVER MANAGER - LMGRD.EXE

The license server manager (lmgrd) handles the initial contact with the GTXRaster CAD Series V11.5 FLEXENABLED application, passing the connection on to the GTXFLEX.EXE vendor daemon. It also starts and restarts the GTX vendor daemon.

VENDOR DAEMON - GTXFLEX.EXE

The GTXFLEX.EXE vendor daemon keeps track of how many licenses are checked out, and who has them. Logging to a file is an optional reporting function of the vendor daemon for recording license availability and usage data.

LICENSE FILE - GTXNET.LIC

Contains information about the server machine and vendor daemon, and at least one line of data (called FEATURE or INCREMENT lines) for each FLEXenabled product, (PWN1100, RWN1100, VWN1100, or TWN1100). Each FEATURE line contains a license key or signature based on the data in that line, the hostids specified in the SERVER line(s), and other vendor-specific data.

LICENSE FILE - GTX.LIC

The GTX.LIC file used in a distributed license environment is NOT comparable to a GTX.LIC file used in a stand alone GTX installation. This license file resides on the client machine. The GTX.LIC file belongs in the GTXRaster CAD Series V11.5 main program folder. It should contain a copy of the SERVER line, and the Vendor line found in the GTXNET.LIC file to enable access to the network license.

Example of a complete GTX.LIC file for distributed (floating) licensing;

SERVER servername 001234567899
VENDOR gtxflex USE_SERVER

LICENSE ADMINISTRATION TOOL - LMTOOLS.EXE

Some of the functions LMTOOLS performs include:
-starting, stopping, and configuring the FLEXnet License Server System.
-system information, including hostids.
-getting server status.

LICENSE OPTIONS FILE - GTXFLEX.OPT

A file named GTXFLEX.OPT, stored in the same path as the GTXNET.LIC license file, may be created to control GTX license access for users, groups of users, or specific computers. An options file, allows the license administrator to control FLEXnet license monitoring and behavior.
