Configure the GTX License Server System - GTXRaster CAD 2017 Series
Steps to Follow:
- Download network licensing applications from the GTX website to the computer that will be hosting the license manager (License Server Host).
- Copy the GTXNET.LIC file to a path associated with the GTX vendor daemon. (c:\SoftwareLicenseActivation)
- Configure (LMTOOLS) and start the GTX vendor's service.
- Verify GTX vendor's service has started by reviewing the LMTOOLS log file.
- Add applications and daemons to firewall and security to allow TCP communication.
- Verify clients can access the license server.
Step 1: Download Network Licensing Applications
Download the latest version from Step #1 here:

The zip file (GtxFlexUtilities_32bit.zip or GtxFlexUtilities_64bit.zip) will contain all needed applications and files, including the GTX vendor daemon (gtxflex.exe).
Note that this the same set of network utilities that contain the GTX Registration Wizard, and you may have downloaded the utilities already when registering your server.
For the example below, a new folder was created called C:\SoftwareLicenseActivation, and the utilities file (GtxFlexUtilities_32bit.zip)
was downloaded and unzipped in the new folder.
Note that the GTX vendor daemon (gtxflex.exe) must be in the same directory as the LMGRD.EXE utility.
Using Flexera applications from another source will still require copying the GTX vendor daemon into the associated LMGRD.EXE directory.
Step 2: Copy the GTXNET.LIC file
Copy the GTXNET.LIC file to the licensing folder on your license manager server.
Note that the GTXNET.LIC file must be in the same directory as the gtxflex.exe and LMGRD.EXE applications.
In the example below, the GTXNET.LIC file was copied into the C:\SoftwareLicenseActivation\ folder as that is where the applications reside.
Step 3: Configure and start the GTX vendor's service
Upon receiving a GTXNET.LIC file from GTX, start the LMTOOLS.EXE program on the
computer which was selected to serve as the License Server System. From the
Config Services tab overwrite any existing Service Name with an appropriate
name for the GTX service. That will add a new service and open all other fields for new entries.
Following this sample image, browse to and select the paths to the LMGRD.EXE,
the GTXNET.LIC, and a log file, which must be originated. Place the check marks
for Start Server at Power Up and Use Services, at the bottom of the Config
Services window. Then press the Save Service button.
Select the Service/License File tab, with the FLEXnet service for
GTX name highlighted, set the Configuration using Services as the active

of this window provides clues to the success or failure of the server
Step 4: Verify GTX vendor's service
The View Log control, under the Config Services tab, displays the
Log viewer. This reveals the starting or stopping status of the LMGRD license
server manager, and the GTXFLEX daemon. It will also show the GTXRaster CAD
2017 Series program feature(s), (PWN2000 or RWN2000)
assigned by the GTXNET.LIC to serve licenses on the Host Server computer.
Step 5: Add applications and daemons to firewall and security
The main reason a client computer cannot receive a network license is the server firewall is not properly setup to allow TCP communication between the client computer and the license server.

Step 6: Verify clients can access the license server
The GTX.LIC client license file must be copied to the product installation folder on each client computer. The license file points to the license server host.
Users should now be able to run their product and receive licenses from the license server. Note that the server license file is named gtxnet.lic and the client license file is named gtx.lic.
