All GTX commands result in a message stating, Unknown Command
A session of AutoCAD may display RasterCAD menus and icons even
if the RasterCAD program is not functioning within AutoCAD. In that condition
the selection of a RasterCAD command from a pull down menu or toolbar icon will
result in an Unknown Command statement on the AutoCAD command line. This
condition is not related to program licensing. An unlicensed but functional GTX
program will start in demonstration mode and all commands will respond
correctly.
Evaluating the Raster CAD startup process
1. Press the F2 button after AutoCAD has completely started. A
successful RasterCAD start will be noted by the text window statement 'GtxRX
Loaded - MDE aware'. In the case of a severely restricted system, where Raster
CAD has been installed in the protected C:\Program Files folder, the AutoCAD
text window may reveal an error message stating,
Prompt file error, gtxrx.arx must be reloaded.
Prompt Table non-existent!
The solution to this would be to reinstall Raster CAD outside of the C:\Program
Files folder.
2. Through a faulty Raster CAD profile import, or other
installation issues, the normal start process for Raster CAD does not proceed
successfully. The Raster CAD startup procedure follows this pattern. The Raster
CAD file path is configured as the first path AutoCAD will search when AutoCAD
starts. This configuration is normally accomplished automatically by the Raster
CAD installation. Upon searching the support path list AutoCAD will find and
respond to the acad.rx file found in the Raster CAD folder. The acad.rx file
contains the name of the gtxrx.arx application. AutoCAD will start any
application listed in the acad.rx file. This GTX startup process is dependent
on the Raster CAD file path presence in the AutoCAD Support File Search Path as
displayed in AutoCAD Options dialog under the Files tab. In it's absence,
adding the GTX paths similar to the following example should cause Raster CAD
to start when AutoCAD starts.
